RICKY STARTED OUT SINGING. IN 8th GRADE HE SANG IN A PLAY AT ALLEGHENY COLLEGE PERFORMING A JAMES BROWN TUNE. SLY STONE, MICHAEL JACKSON, JIMI HENDRIX, FRANK ZAPPA AND MILES DAVIS WERE HIS INFLUENCES AMONG MANY OTHERS. IN 1978 HE OPENED FOR BOB MARLEY AND THE WAILERS ON THEIR BABYLON BY BUS TOUR IN POUGHKEEPSIE, NEW YORK.
RICKY HAS LEARNED AND MASTERED THE NEW INSTRUMENT CALLED TOUCH GUITAR. A TWELVE STRINGED INSTRUMENT THAT IS TAPPED RATHER THAN PLUCKED AND AS A RESULT IS ABLE TO PLAY GUITAR, BASS, SYNTHESIZERS AND SING ALL AT ONCE. AUDIENCES ARE DRAWN IN MAGNETICALLY.
